This week started out very well for me. My ball reaction was amazing through the first couple of days. I used an Action Attack the first block on tuesday and a Wrath for the night block on Wednesday. I had everything going my way and I used some good breaks to take the lead after qualifying, match play however was a different story. I bowled Robert Smith in the first round of match play and saw something that I didn't see all week, my ball hooking much more down the lane than any other block to this point. I got trapped playing the lanes like I played them earlier in the week and dug myself a hole after game 1 that I could not get out of. I managed to win the next two matches that night and advanced to bowl Chris Barnes on friday morning. My hope was that I would have a lead after two games and at that point he would be forced to move off the gutter and move to a part of the lane that I have a better chance to beat him at. It worked out well after two games and I had a lead of 9 going into game 3. Chris however decided to throw the first 8 at me the last game, which was not in my game plan. I am very pleased at how the week went, even though I would have liked to had a much better result in match play. This tournament has not been very kind to me in the past so to get off to a good start is a very big confidence boost heading into this week in Taylor.
